Waiting

31Jul10

Chains around her neck,
Her eyes glossy and wide,
Beneath the metals fray,
Her death seeps through doors,
She yearns to get away.

Red, black, and rust,
They mix underneath,
Her polished shoes scrape,
Cobblestones beneath,
soundless, breathless.

She’s in for a treat.
