Hanging on his wall,
Was a picture of a woman,
Beautiful as she is,
Tainted by dust and old age.
She was loved in sketches,
Worshipped behind framed glass,
And memories placed in emails,
Sent to the present from the past.
Notes covered the walls,
In different sizes and colours,
They are there to remind him of how–
He met her, what he loved about her,
How she made him complete.
Even in the distance,
He loved her and hoped for someday,
Someday she would notice…
That he gave her his everything,
Without her knowing.
And with his last breath,
He whispered to the stars,
That she never forget the one she calls…
Daddy Long Legs.
